SRI RAMAJAYAM

SRI RAMA DARSHANAM

SRI KOTHANDA RAAMAR TEMPLE,
MULLANGUDI Village.
Near Lower Anaicut , Thiruvidaimarudur Taluk,
Thanjavur DistrictTamil Nadu.
The Specialty of this Temple:
Sri Raamar posing with Shankam and Chakram
instead of Bow and Arrow in his hands
and Sri Seetha Piratti sitting on his left lap
like Badrachalam and Erumai Vetti Palayam.

SRI RAMA DARSHANAM at  MULLANGUDI

Sri Garudazwar came down to Boolokam to have Darshan of               Sri Mahaavishnu during His Raamaa Avataar,  while Sri Raamar was in the  forest in search of Sri Seetha  Piratti.

Garudazhwar was not satisfied with the darshan of Sri Raamar without Sri Seetha Piratti. He wanted to have darshan of both Sri Raamar & Sri Seetha Piratti. He expressed his anxiety to Sri Kailasanathar. Sri Kailasanathar asked him to do penance at Mullangudi. Likewise he was doing penance at Mullangudi.

Sri Raamar gave darshan to Garudazhwar and to Anjaneyar with Changu and Chakram instead of Bow and Arrow in his hastham and keeping Sri Seetha Piratti, who was actually residing in His Hrudhayam (Heart),  on his left lap.   It is rare to see that Sri Garudazhwar sannidhi is just opposite to Sri Kothandaraamar sannidhi.
